My fascination with working with textiles began at an early age as my extended family were all actively involved in traditional textile crafts. In the late 80s I moved to Sweden where I had the chance to fulfil my childhood ambition of learning to weave. I return to Sweden every summer to gather more inspiration and materials for my weaving.
I now live in Burscough where silk was being woven in the 18th Century. I am keen to keep alive traditional hand weaving techniques, still using natural fibres but in contemporary designs.
Now my children are grown up I am able to devote the time I need to designing and making unique handwoven textiles.
I handweave bags, scarves, snoods, throws, rugs and wall art. Each piece is individually designed, handwoven and finished. Weaving is a time consuming process with some pieces taking many days to weave and hand finish.
